DYE WITH PLANTS

Curious about how it is possible to dye with plants or stuff you have in your kitchen? Then come and explore how to natural dye in Absalon!
 

To colour with plants is an old tradition and we will explore and see what opportunities natures own dyes have.

Bring some old clothes or a piece of fabric that needs a little fix up and then we will provide knowledge, tips, tricks and the other materials you need.

Who would have thought, that hidden in an onion peel or a glas of wine, are the most beautiful colours?

You don’t need to be a plantexpert to participate. This workshop is for beginners who are curious to learn more.

PRACTICAL INFO

We are in Tårnværelset on the 3rd floor. Take the stairs up by the entrance. There is no elevator.

It costs 250 kr. to participate.

We have all the necessary materials, but remember to bring clothes or fabric that you would like to dye.

The fabric should preferably be in cotton and have a maximum weight of 100 grams.

It’s a good idea to make sure the rim of the fabric are sewn, otherwise the stringy edges will run.

You might get some colour on your clothes while working, so wear clothes that can get dirty.

There is never a guarenteed colour result when you dye with plants, which makes it even more interesting!
