Come and immerse yourself in the world of ceramics and its possibilities together with other ceramic-curious people. You will learn techniques, explore materials, and make fun, beautiful, functional, artistic objects that you can bring home.
In this 9-week course, we have extra time to try out different modeling and decoration techniques. We meet 9 Mondays for three hours. Along the way, you will be introduced to coiling technique, slab technique, working with a plaster mold, and glazing. There will be plenty of time to work with the different techniques. The program for the weeks looks like this:

We make a candlestick with coiling technique
Week 2: Slab technique
We make a vase with slab technique
Week 3: Decoration
We decorate our cases with coating in many colors
Week 4: Create freely
Time to create freely and further work on the techniques
Week 5: Glazing
We glaze with colored and transparent glaze.
Week 6: Plaster mold
We give shape to the clay by pressing it into a plaster mold.
Week 7: Create freely
Time to create freely and further work on the techniques
Week 8: Create freely
Time to create freely and further work on the techniques
Week 9: Glazing
We glaze with colored and transparent glaze.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Price: 1900 kr
We meet 9 Mondays from kl. 18:00 to 21:00. Teaching, 6,5 kg of clay, glaze and firings are included in the price, with and option to buy more clay if needed.
The ceramics workshop is located on the 3rd floor at the room ‘Børnehaven’ in Folkehuset Absalon. There is no elevator. You get up there by using the stairs at the bar.
Come in clothes that can withstand getting dirty.
Everyone can participate, regardless of ceramic experience. Our ceramicist guides and gives advice so that everyone can participate, but we can not guarantee that all clay creations will make it through the trip in the kiln.
NOTE: Remember to check the dates thoroughly before buying a ticket. Tickets are non-refundable or exchangeable for another date.
For the course from November 20th-January 29th: The course won’t be held on December 25th and January 1st due to the Christmas holidays. We’ll start up again on January 8th 2024.
