Make a Mirror in Ceramic

Create a unique and personal frame for a mirror in ceramic. We will give shape to the frame, decorate it with glaze, and attach the mirror to the frame together the last time we meet.
 

You will learn basic techniques so you can shape the frame, you will be guided through the process by our instructor.

PROGRAM FOR THE COURSE

1st week (16/1)
19:00 – 22:00 – Learn basic shaping

BREAK

2nd week (30/1)
19:00 – 21:00 – Add color to the frame with glaze

3rd week (6/2)
19:00 – 20:30 – Assemble the finished ceramic frame to the mirror

During the first session, we will meet for three hours to shape and decorate the frames. We will have a break between the first and second week to allow the clay enough time to dry and be fired before we glaze it. During the second session, we will spend 2 hours glazing and the third and final time, we will meet for 1.5 hours to mount the frame on to the mirror.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Price: 400 kr.

You will receive a round mirror measuring 20 cm in diameter. You can create a frame that is up to 30 cm wide and long.

The ceramics workshop is located on the 3rd floor of Folkehuset Absalon. There is no elevator. Please wear clothing that can withstand getting dirty.

Our ceramicist will guide and provide good advice, but we cannot guarantee that all clay creations will survive the trip in the oven.
